Have you noticed how the choice of terminology has changed over the years when it comes to discussion of climate? There is a good reason because ‘global warming’ was the first term and when it was found to be difficult to get scientific evidence, it was replaced with ‘climate change’. This way it was a little more vague, yet could be applied to a variety of additional circumstances that global warming could not. With ‘climate change’ things like storms, unusual warm AND cold spells and migration of species or invasive species could also be blamed on this catch all list of evils. Apparently, that was not enough to induce the panic that climate alarmists wanted so we have now arrived at ‘climate emergency’ in hopes of scaring people enough to vote for politicians who are obsessed with the Paris Climate Accords, the Green New Deal and the ‘Big Goal’ which is global taxation.
‘Climate Emergency’ is the Trojan Horse of global taxation and upon the implementation of any global usurpation of sovereignty, that will mark the end of self determination because, typical of all government, its size and invasiveness will grow over time and soon decisions will be made for us by a cloistered unelected elite outside our borders. Should you be reading this outside the US, there will be no difference. Your nation cannot afford to cede control of its own destiny unless you aspire to be part of the global serf state which is the end goal of the elite technocrats.
In 2019 the International Monetary Fund arrived at the conclusion that taxing fossil fuel use would be the most efficient way to fight climate change. They announced that nations which do tax carbon emissions are currently as about $2 (US) per ton. Their proposal, which is supposed to be enacted only seven years from now, would establish a global tax (as expected) at $75 (US) per ton. In case you were wondering, that would amount to a 3750% increase in less than a decade from now.
The IMF estimated that a $75 tax would cut emissions in the USA by nearly 30 percent but would cause a 53 percent increase in electrical costs and a 20 percent rise in gasoline prices. First, a little pondering should get one to think about how a 3750% tax increase would only lead to a 53% increase in electricity cost. Also, it should hopefully encourage skepticism as to if this figure can be defended. Then, the IMF adds another element to the picture. This plan is also a part of a policy where the revenue of the tax will be part of a monetary redistribution plan. Remember that ‘redistribution’ is a cornerstone of socialism.
Not surprisingly, the report also opened the door to future substantial increases in this tax. Kenneth Gillingham, an economics professor at Yale University, said the IMF’s position reflected the urgency over the issue of climate but that he expected the figure to be closer to $100 per ton. That now is a potential 5000% increase over current levels but it only gets worse. Nobel Prize winning Yale economist William Nordhaus has advocated that a carbon tax of $300 per ton or even higher might be required. Maximum fear mongering is the plan because that is the only way to generate sufficient hysteria for the globalists will get their international tax.
Now, would you be surprised to learn that there is no ‘climate emergency’? According to a study by the Global Warming Policy Foundation, independent scientist Dr Indur Goklany issued the following statements which contradict all the media hyped ‘emergency’ hysteria.
1. Weather phenomena have not become more extreme, more deadly or more destructive
2. Evidence directly contradicts claims that increased carbon dioxide has reduced human wellbeing
Dr Goklany stated human wellbeing has never been higher.
3. Whatever negative effects that warming and higher carbon dioxide may have had on species and
ecosystems, they are less detrimental than fossil fuels which have increased productivity leading to
the stop or even reverse of habitat loss.
Dr Goklany’s report is titled ‘Impacts of Climate Change: Perception and Reality’

More hot days and fewer cold days — Yes
Cyclones/hurricanes more intense or frequent — No
Tornadoes increase and become more intense — No
Floods more frequent and more intense — No

Area burned by wildfire increasing — No (area peaked in mid-19th century)
Cereal yields decreasing — No (they have tripled since 1961)
Food supplies per capita decreasing — No (increased 31 per cent since 1961)
Land area and beaches shrinking, coral islands submerged — No. (Marginal expansion)
Access to cleaner water has increased
Mortality from ‘Extreme Weather Events’ has declined by 99 per cent since the 1920s
Death rates from climate sensitive diseases like malaria have decreased
Hunger and poverty rates have declined
GDP per capita has quadrupled since 1950 even as CO2 levels have sextupled
Life expectancy has more than doubled since the start of industrialisation
Health adjusted life expectancy has increased
Global inequality has decreased in terms of income, life expectancy and access to modern amenities
The earth has more trees and is more productive in farming
Leftist scientists will be hard pressed to dismiss Dr Golkany as a ‘climate denier’, one of their favorite terms, because they like that is sounds similar in tone to ‘holocaust denier’. Unfortunately for them, Dr Golkany’s credentials are above reproach, have served as a member of the US delegation that established the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). He later served as a US delegate to the IPCC and as an IPCC reviewer.
Dr Goklany said ‘Almost everywhere you look, climate change is having only small, and often benign, impacts. The impact of extreme weather events ― hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and droughts ― are, if anything, declining. Economic damages have declined as a fraction of global GDP. Death rates from such events have declined by 99% since the 1920s. Climate-related disease has collapsed. And more people die from cold than warm temperatures. It sounds like he is right on the money… if you doubt the threat of the cold, just ask a Texan right about now.
Just remember, every time you hear someone talking about a ‘climate emergency’, remember that what it really is actually a ‘tax emergency’ where the globalists want to usurp sovereignty under the banner of saving the planet.
