The United States: The Only Nation Which Teaches Its Own Children To Hate Their Country

President Trump signed an executive order establishing the 1776 Commission with the stated purpose of promoting patriotic education and stopping ‘radical indoctrination’. As we shall see, this is not hyperbole but a frighteningly accurate portrayal of what is taking place in America’s schools. Whether or not you have school age children, this should serve as a clarion call that something very wrong is happening when a nation actively teaches the next generations to despise their own country. The President stated the current teaching materials are filled with ‘one-sided and divisive rhetoric that ignore or fail to properly honor and recollect the great legacy of the American national experience… including… our country’s valiant and successful effort to shake off the curse of slavery and to use the lessons of that struggle to guide our work toward equal rights for all citizens in the present’. Not surprisingly, some Democrats immediately stated they opposed the President simply because they know a properly educated populace will not fall for their globalist socialist lies. The President’s Executive Order also included that parents and local school boards must be empowered to achieve greater choice and variety in curriculum at the state and local levels’.

Alex Newman, AMP contributor, author and international award winning journalist stated that ‘The history taught in public schools is a complete and total reversal of reality’. President Trump shares Mr Newman’s view and he stated at the 2020 Independence Day celebration at Mount Rushmore ‘Our children are taught in school to hate their own country and to believe that the men and women who built it were not heroes, but that they were villains’. The President continued to say ‘The violent mayhem we have seen in the streets of cities that are run by liberal Democrats, in every case, is the predictable result of years of extreme indoctrination and bias in education, journalism, and other cultural institutions’ to which Mr Newman replied ‘He hit the nail right smack on the head. That’s what I’ve been arguing for years’.

Mr Newman told the Epoch Times that what defines American people are principles enshrined in the country’s founding documents including the Declaration of Independence which states that all men are created equal and that everyone is endowed by their Creator with unalienable rights. However, the history taught in our schools has now been replaced by a bogus narrative that erroneously claims that the country’s founding principles were ‘slavery oppression, racism, white supremacy and similar things’.

An example that both President Trump and Mr Newman point to is called the 1619 project which got its name from the year 1619 when a group of twenty Africans arrived as the first enslaved Africans in the Virginia Colony. Here is a point of history that the left does not want you to know or share: The first slave owner in the British Atlantic Colonies which because the USA was Anthony Johnson who was black and had come from Angola and became wealthy in the New World. Yes, you read that right. Meanwhile, the liberal New York Times immediately weighed in on the 1619 Project which, needless to say, leaves Anthony Johnson out of the curriculum. Pulitzer Prize winning reporter Nikole Sheri Hannah-Jones stating ‘Our democracy’s founding ideals were false when they were written’. If Mrs Hannah Jones can win a Pulitzer prize with a statement like that, it certainly calls more into question. Since the US is not and never has been a democracy, this is clearly not someone who has the proper historical knowledge to be winning prizes for her historical assessment. Alex Newman said the project is ‘essentially fake history’ and he was proven correct by… wait for it… the New York Times whose own ‘fact checker’ agreed the curriculum was filled with inaccuracies. Mrs Hannah Jones’ thesis that racism is ‘embedded in the DNA of America’ led Mr Newman to reply that ‘Since DNA cannot be changed or removed…’ he believes her viewpoint can be summarized by saying ‘You’ve got to kill America to get rid of this horrible DNA’. Mr Newman continued to say that America’s founding fathers wanted to abolish slavery because it was incompatible with the founding principles based on Christian values.’ He added that Thomas Jefferson fought a war against the slave trading Barbary Pirates in North Africa while the ‘Father of the Constitution’ James Madison ‘loathed slavery’. Needless to say, not even these two simple excerpts from the troves of documentation of the Founding Fathers are found in the 1619 Project because if these references were included, they would undermine the basic tenant of the project which is to make America look as bad as possible to today’s students who are being groomed to be globalist socialists.

If you are wondering who approves of the 1619 Project, look no farther than China, whose Red Guards of indoctrinated youth led China’s Cultural Revolution. This is almost identical to the Cancel Culture we see China and other American leftists supporting in the US today. The goal of the Cultural Revolution was to erase anything that was pre Mao or of Western influence. Meanwhile, the goal of the Cancel Culture anarchists is to erase anything traditional or foundational related to the United States. No heroes or positive aspects are permitted by these leftist thugs. Ariel Durant said that ‘A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within.’ Alex Newman agrees and stated that the Communist Party of China openly celebrates the 1619 Project because it is filled with ‘propaganda, brainwashing, lies, indoctrination, misinformation and disinformation, and psychological warfare, Americans can be convinced to hate their own country and dismantle it from the inside.’ It does not take much effort to see the months of rioting and destruction in cities across the US and realize that China and others are delightfully watching us dismantle our nation without them firing a shot. For the record, the US may be the ‘big goal’ but China and fellow globalist conspirators are using the same techniques in other nations around the globe that they wish to undermine in order to have hegemony.

Another pernicious curriculum of lies was also mentioned by President Trump during his Fourth of July 2020 speech at Mt Rushmore. It is called Critical Race Theory and is an offshoot of the Marxist influenced social philosophy that was promoted by the Frankfurt School of thought. The Frankfort school and its adherents have been openly Marxist in their ideology as well as their desire to undermine the United States. Critical Race Theory is classic communist ‘divide and conquer’ technique. It begins from an assumption that should raise a ‘red’ flag to any American who examines what its beliefs are. Constitutional Law itself is condemned as it ‘interferes with developing a sense of community as well as seeing each other as fellow human beings’. Communalism is a cornerstone of anti-Western thought but even a quick examination should show the lie presented. If there is no sense of shared identity from having a justice system based in a written standard with equal protection under the law and that all men are created equal then you can undermine society. Critical Race Theory seeks instead to identify and intensify every negative that comes from modern leftist identity politics where people are taught to perceive their political affiliation from whichever ethnicity they come from. Nothing could be more injurious than that to teach a multiethnic society because it will lead to Balkanization instead of commonalities derived from the vision of equality and fraternity set forth by the Founding Fathers. Turning society against itself is a core communist technique and Critical Race Theory stokes the flames of estrangement, hostility and ethnic isolationism. Proponents of the decidedly Anti-American propaganda can easily be seen as the liars they are because all they do is promote hostility to shared Americanism yet there is absolutely no provision in their ‘educational materials’ to encourage open and healthy discussions. Our society has lost the ability to have civil discourse simply because the left has promoted the notion that no civility at all should exist if someone can be labeled with one of their favorite insults that ends in ‘ism’ or ‘phobia’. Instead, the left foments ‘systemic racism’ as their oft repeated complaint simply because when something is truly ‘systemic’ that means for all practical purposes, it cannot be eradicated without dismantling the entire state which is exactly what the left wants from their ‘useful idiots’. This is also inherently anti-Caucasian because no matter what, in these people’s eyes, all whites are permanently racist and there is no cure.

If you wonder just how far the pernicious ideas of Critical Race Theory have penetrated society, even the Smithsonian Museum has a display on ‘whiteness’ that condemns most aspects of civil society. Many of its criticisms of ‘whiteness’ were derived from Dismantling Racism Workbook by authors Tema Okun and Kenneth Jones. Some negative examples of ‘white supremacy’ from these communist authors include: perfectionism, urgency, emphasis on writing, having only one correct solution, individualism, fear of conflict, progress and objectivity. Two observations must immediately be made. First, since when did ANY of the above so-called examples have anything to do with encouraging the superiority of people of European ancestry? Also, since when does offering an objective assessment, aspiring to progress, promotion of the value of the individual and punctuality (urgency) constitute ANY sort of race based concept? These have nothing to do with race and everything to do with finding ways to make students and observers at the Smithsonian see their fellow Americans as oppressors instead of fellow countrymen. The second observation is that all of a sudden ‘whiteness’ has become a monolithic concept which is used to conveniently pigeonhole all beige skinned people into the category of default oppressors. The people who created this destructive nonsense failed to realize that ‘whiteness’ is largely a second half of the 20Th Century idea. For example, immigrants who arrived via Ellis Island settled in neighborhoods in New York usually populated by people from the nation from which they came. The idea that in 1900 an Englishman, Italian, Pole or Swede would somehow see themselves as all having the same identity is simply preposterous. It is a tribute to America that people intermarried and formed a society where these people’s children could say ‘My fellow Americans’. The same is also happening with people of non-European descent as well. Despite all the efforts to foment hostility between people of different ethnicities, interracial marriages are at an all time high. This never will be mentioned because it undermines the fundamental and phony narrative that somehow the USA is nothing but bigots. Instead, Critical Race Theory pushes silly buzzwords like ‘systemic racism, intersectionality and white fragility’. Most who are exposed to this brain-dead propaganda cannot even give a cogent description of what these things are, they just think if these alleged negative aspects exists in the US then it is a justification to destroy our entire civil foundation. One of the many problems in US education is the use of America despising textbooks which present the United States’ failures as well as anything else which can be craftily disguised to look like a shortcoming and then delete all the positive and heroic aspects of our nation. The result is the same, we now have generations which believe their country is inherently oppressive and it is their mission to destroy it instead of learning how cherished the liberties enshrined in our government really operate. The scholastically illiterate then become part of the same Cancel Culture because they have been brainwashed into never knowing the positive aspects of their own nation. None of these sadly ignorant people ever bother to ponder how each and every day there are people risking their lives to cross desert, swim rivers or hide in shipping containers in hopes of reaching the USA. Their indoctrination is so entrenched that they cannot put together the most basic conclusion that if people are desperate to risk everything to come to the USA, why would they do so if it was such a bad place? One of the most widely (ab)used history textbooks in the US public schools today is Howard Zinn’s ‘A People’s History of the United States’ which has sold more than 3 million copies. Alex Newman said that Mr Zinn portrayed Christopher Columbus as a ‘genocidal monster’ in his book. This is clearly untrue when one looks at Columbus’ own diary entries where he succinctly stated he wanted to bring the Bible and Christianity to people. Mr Newman continued ‘Anybody can go look at the primary source documents, and investigate these things for themselves, and see what really happened.’ One person who did just that was Dr Mary Grabar, a Resident Fellow and the Alexander Hamilton Institute for the Study of Western Civilization. She exposed Mr Zinn’s blatant lies about American history in a rebuttal book called ‘Debunking Howard Zinn: Exposing the Fake History that Turned a Generation against America’. Despite this, leftist teachers and schools continue to offer this textbook in an effort to turn out another ignorant generation of social justice warriors who are nothing more than the ‘useful idiots’ that Lenin planned upon using until they become ‘expendable’.

Another cancerous mindset that now has led younger generations away from what it truly means to be American are the efforts to popularize socialism and even communism among millennials (age 23-38) and Generation Z (age 16-22). To give an idea as to how quickly the lies of either of these Marxist philosophies have been adopted, we only need to look at the last decade. According to Gallup Polls, Americans ages 18-30 who hold a favorable view if capitalism fell from 68% in 2010 to 45% in 2018.

This is confirmed by a YouGov poll commissioned by the Victims of Communism project which reported that millennials reporting favorable feelings toward communism rose from 28% to 36%. Additionally, those saying they are ‘extremely likely’ to vote for a socialist doubled from 10% to 20%. There should be no mystery as to why this is happening. The younger generations have had their minds indoctrinated with dangerous lies within our educational system. What I am trying to convey, as is Mr Alex Newman, is that both millennial and generation Z age groups are reporting that communism was presented favorably in their schools despite having killed a bare minimum of 100 million people and perhaps as many as 150 million people in the 20th Century. Needless to say, you will not find this information in the revisionist curriculums of Howard Zinn, Critical Race Theory or the 1619 Project.

The United States of America is in deep trouble and our educational system is serving the enemy.
